So he is saying rich people cause emissions, which causes poverty. And rich = Americans. WOW. Looks like there is nothing new under the sun.

Well, it's true, isn't it? We do contribute vastly more than our "share" of carbon. What is helpful is moving beyond the blame game to solutions and collaborative work. Developing nations need to do more than expect the USA to buy the world out of the difficult situation in which we find ourselves. They are in a unique situation that we never had; they know that their development will affect the whole planet. We did not have that information. So, unlike us, they can create their infrastructures accordingly. We, on the other hand, do have some "atoning" to do. We need to "repent" - turn around - and pay to change our ways for the sake of us all. My thoughts, anyway.
